In Memory of Ken Griffiths

I am so sad to say that our photographer, Ken Griffiths has died.

Ken was truly an intrepid, adventurer-photographer.

Beyond the world of advertising, he created a rich body of personal work.

He believed he became a photographer to record people, landscapes, buildings and street scenes with an inherent truth.

Ken travelled the world over, shooting significant photo essays on the Texas Panhandle, Lincoln’s Inn homeless, the Smithfield

Meat Market & the Three Gorges dam project on the Yangtze.

More recently, his powerful & evocative images of the Welsh community in Patagonia received great acclaim.

The intimate portrait, the epic landscape, often captured on Ken’s Gandolfi 10x8 wooden plate camera.

Big, brave & honest work.

Thank you for the lively anecdotes, gammon, chips & red wine at the pub across the road, John Lee Hooker full volume accompanying the Test Cricket & for reminding me that ‘Life is not a Rehearsal’.

I am hugely privileged to have known & worked with such a prodigious & extraordinary talent. A dear friend.

My heart felt condolences to Ken’s family & friends.

Gian Paul Lozza : Somnium Exhibition

Gian Paul is busy preparing for the opening of his exhibition at the Bildhalle Gallery in Zurich. Somnium comprises a dreamlike series of landscapes shot exclusively at night. Gian Paul considers his unsettling, melancholic images “a journey into the human psyche.”

Thom Atkinson : Creative Review
An engaging interview with Thom Atkinson sharing his thoughts and ideas behind his recent project Soldiers Inventories.
The series of images present a poignant chronology of how weapons and equipment have developed through the time but it becomes apparent that ‘while the technology of warfare changes dramatically, the soldier using it is much the same, certainly physically but perhaps also psychologically’.
